Before & Mostly After Cesar Photos

I want anyone going through this type of situation to honestly realize there is hope for you and your severe fearful dog(s). Don’t feel defeated, become depressed, or discouraged. Hang in there, my friend.

Our dogs still need work but the changes are night and day already–FOR THEM!

We began watching Cesar Millan’s television shows and actually paying attention to his words & techniques. With Cesar’s Dog Whisperer show, the repeats and now his newer show, “Cesar 911”, Mr. Millan trained us (the viewer) to become the dog trainers for our dogs we continually looked for but never found. It was beyond what experienced dog trainers and “experts” could do, while ironically some of them expressed negativity towards Cesar Millan and his advice. These doggie pros we sought out, who get paid for operating doggie care facilities & dog training services, in person, had no idea or a desire to help doggies with severe fear mental problems, which, OK, no problem, but to then express negative and snotty remarks about Cesar Millan’s dog rehab/training methods was not respected and viewed as them not being a dog expert they wanted to be perceived as. Most people can help a normal dog with the basics. I guess I considered an “expert” on dog behavior to actually be an “expert” on dog behavior. That is not at all the case regarding one who can be designated or certified as a “dog expert”. Cesar was the only one who helped. He wasn’t even in our presence or remotely near our geographical location. He didn’t tell us he knew how to help fearful dogs, his fees, then LEAVE after seeing in person what we clearly stated over the phone, prior to meeting the dogs. He didn’t say get our dogs leash ready before he can help. Others did, and at that point why would we pay a “dog expert” when we did the important and hardest part, not even remotely claiming to be any kind of dog expert or quasi trainers? A lot of “dog experts” and “dog trainers” give a bio that gives the impression that they really are experts with dog behavior, not just common dog issues. There should be classifications for “dog expert”/”dog trainers”. If you do not have the well seasoned experience and repeat proven positive results for rehabilitating fearful or aggressive dogs or  rescued dogs then just state that. Make it clear you are not able to work with extreme behavior issues. Don’t take a gamble on getting a paid gig only to leave after seeing it in person exactly what was explained over the phone. Dont claim you are a professional dog expert only to tell people with rescued dogs having extreme issues you are only an expert to use AFTER the hard part gets fixed by the owner or another. State your truthful extent of dog expertise or limited dog “expertise”. Just be honest with your bio and/or to others–and be honest with yourself. One expert who works with rescues and as a trainer stated his rescued adopted dogs would kill our dogs vs helping them learn socialization from them. As an authentic expert on dogs, with an endless ocean of proven results, I have never known of Cesar’s dogs or his pack killing another dog he took in to rehab. Because he is a proven authentic expert on dogs and packs, he knows how NOT to have his pack or his dogs kill a dog in need of rehabing.  Cesar doesn’t even know we exist, but the man did the trick for us. We likely saved thousands of dollars because he shares his knowledge for free on his television shows. I never watched his show until one day I was feeling so defeated and depressed from the dogs that I decided to watch something on TV to take my mind off of everything. I don’t even like watching TV, which tells you how down in the dumpsters I was. I began flipping channels and found his show. I can promise you that had we lived close enough to have driven to him with our then super-duper crazy fearful dogs, WE WOULD HAVE!

Mr. Cesar Millan, if you ever come across this, we have no words for our gratitude and for what you, and only you, were able to do for our dogs, for us, for our home, and our sanity. Thank you for sharing your legit dog expertise knowledge.

I honestly never knew if I would see the day either dog could be walked after repeatedly trying to walk them, prior to watching repeats of Dog Whisperer and episodes specifically dealing with SEVERE FEARFUL dog issues. Total fail!!!! This was about a month after implementing Cesar’s  techniques. Furthermore, it is very comforting when he explains dogs are not suffering just because they cry, resist, or are afraid to do something. It also helps to learn and watch the whole process. Cesar had a formerly abused dog at a shelter that nobody could get it to come out of its kennel. That helped a lot, too. Many of his shows helped with our dogs and how to rethink the issue with a different frame of mind.

We could catch this dog easier at first so we began getting her use to the leash in our home and back yard. It was a nightmare, grueling, and exhausting. That dog would trash, crap, pee, cry, and freak out. Going out of our yard and into the world had her shaking so bad she often couldn't hold herself up or move. It took an hour to go four houses and back and didn't want to do it again for awhile. Too dramatic! The first few walk with the blonde dog was so much worse. Around that time I began watching Do Whisperer repeats.

She also froze like a statue and would cry. That was that as far as I was concerned. Around that time I began watching Dog Whisperer repeats. The show about ” Rosco” helped a lot.

After learning more about the human frame of mind, when dealing with crazy dogs, from Cesar’s perspective, and as the dogs began to get better I began feeling like I could walk both dogs, by myself, with the right frame of mind. About a month after we began properly teaching the dogs to walk, I did just that.

My husband and I walking both dogs. I learned how to make doggie sweaters from a website and made their sweaters because it was extremely cold but we needed to keep up the walks.
My husband and I walking both dogs. I learned how to make doggie sweaters from a website I can’t find anymore and made their sweaters because it was extremely cold but we needed to keep up the walks. Since, at the time, measuring the dogs was tricky, I guesstimated most of it.
This was taken this morning when I walked both dogs by myself. I first walked them by myself a few months ago. Some time ago I ditched using the full harnesses on the dogs because they can get out of a harness in a split second. I found that out some time ago. They seem not to want to pull so much without the harness, especially the brown dog.

We still have a few challenges to tackle and are hopeful about them.
